In order to be able to take a diversity of perspectives to design and construct the social infrastructure that supports people's lives, students at the department can hone their skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary fields such as community design, disaster prevention management, and overseas projects, in addition to learning the fundamentals of conventional civil engineering fields. This is a distinctive feature of the department. In addition, students will enhance their practical human skills through hands-on experience with regional issues and construction technology. In this way, the department trains construction engineers who can be active both domestically and internationally, developing technologies and proposing measures that are appropriate to the actual region, taking into account social conditions, the lives of local residents, and the natural environment from a variety of perspectives.
